To add your first event, navigate to Events in the left hand navigation bar and click on Create New Event. Complete the required fields, adding the name of the event, the start and end dates and times, and timezone. You’ll also need to add your event description, and the type of event you are hosting. Once you’ve completed these details, click Save Event.
Once the foundation of your event has been created, you’ll want to add more detail. Scroll down the page, locate the event you just created and select Go to Event Dashboard. Once the event loads, navigate to Event Options, and review the information listed. Note, the information you input when you created your event will appear in this area. You can edit these fields as your event evolves over time.
Scroll down the Event Options dashboard to view and edit the available fields for use. FIrst, review the information in Event Details. Located in this category, you will be able to enable the introduction video for your event and add event rooms. Metavent offers four categories of event rooms. Keynote Address are event rooms that will feature your main speaker(s). To the right of Keynote Address, you can add the number of rooms needed for your event. Breakout Rooms will allow groups of your attendees (known as “Explorers” in metavent) to meet in groups for activities, small meeting groups and even games. Sponsor Rooms gives your event sponsors the ability to meet and engage with Explorers. Finally, Networking Rooms provides a unique experience for your event by creating public or private rooms that can be tailored for internal or confidential matters. Remember to save your event details for each category in Event Options.
Another feature within the Event Options dashboard is the Event Users feature, located on the right hand side of the page. Do not skip this step, as enabling this feature will provide users on your team access to this event within their metavent profile. Start by locating the orange button to the right hand of the screen and click on Add User. A pop up window will appear and you can select users from the drop-down menu to provide access to the selected event.
Note: You will need to add users to each event you create.
